G Wing main floor and basement reopen at 5:30 a.m. April 12
Updated Apr. 11, 2017, 3:30 p.m.
The main floor and basement of G Wing will reopen April 12 at 5:30 a.m. after the final tests show air quality is well within acceptable occupational exposure limits following the Feb. 10 fire in a second-floor lab in G Wing. Staff are setting up classrooms and labs in preparation for the return of students.
Cleaning and restoration work is now complete on the main floor and basement, but the second floor will remain closed throughout most of the summer. Air ducts from the second floor have been physically separated from the rest of the building to eliminate the potential for cross-contamination.
The safety of students and staff continues to be our top priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

G Wing will re-open in stages
Updated Mar. 28, 2017, 8:00 a.m.
G Wing will re-open on a phased schedule as a result of restoration efforts being more extensive than initially anticipated. The basement of G Wing is expected to open in mid-April while the main floor is expected to open in early May. We currently anticipate the second floor, including G208, will remain closed through most of the summer.
The phased schedule accommodates additional cleanup and testing being conducted on the floors and air ducts. Air ducts from the second floor have been physically separated from the remaining building to eliminate potential cross-contamination paths. This will help ensure that all areas of G Wing meet health and safety requirements before re-opening. We will update students and staff on the new opening dates once they are determined by the restoration team.
The safety of students and staff remains our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
