Outreach & Wellbeing Leaders
NAIT's Outreach and Wellbeing Leaders ensure that a peer-based approach of holistic support to our students is delivered on campus through initiatives and events throughout the year. In collaboration with Student Well-being and Community service areas, our OWLs have facilitated or supported things such as Music Jam sessions, Art Therapy, Health Fair, Movemeber, Safe Spaces, Pride Week, Healthy Relationship Week, and many more on-going wellness endeavors programed year-round.
Bringing their own set unique strengths and personal experiences of being a NAIT student, our OWLs connect students with information on campus resources and facilitate well-being breaks to promote a balanced post-secondary experience. By supporting events, leading activities, and collaborating with leaders within Campus Life, OWLs demonstrate NAIT’s commitment to supporting the mental, physical and academic well-being of the student body.
What's Coming Up...
Sometimes is difficult to pin point exactly how we're feeling. When the rush of responsibilities and deadlines starts to emerge, it's not uncommon to feel lost in a flood of moods and various emotions with out the luxury of extra time to stop and consider why. Whether you're celebrating a massive win, or anxious about juggling your course load, the Outreach and Well-being leaders have it covered! They will be blanketing across campus to provide an opportunity for self-expression and self-awareness. This is the perfect time to ask questions about the resources NAIT has to offer or to get an amazing high-five from a certified pro!
Dates: September 27, October 15 & 22
Working hard and being productive is crucial for success - just like taking healthy breaks! The OWLs will be arming themselves with a variety of soothing teas and doing the rounds on campus to ensure everyone has the chance for some intentional down-time and a happier, healthier study session.
Dates: September 21, October 19
Say 1 Thing
Positive students writing positive messages creating a better community at NAIT. Sometimes a simple compliment or supportive note can work wonders to brighten someone's day. OWLs will be setting up shop at various locations to give students and staff a chance to reach out to someone - anyone! Stranger or friend, we all play a part in making NAIT a truly wonderful place to learn.
Dates: September 18, October 9, November 13 & December 10
