The Prospective Aboriginal Youth Program
The Prospective Aboriginal Youth (PAY) program establishes relationships between NAIT and Aboriginal youth in Alberta and across Canada. The program actively engages communities and increases awareness of NAIT academic programs and services, including the Nîsôhkamâtotân Centre.

The Nîsôhkamâtotân Centre works closely with groups to customize their PAY program experience, focusing on relevant NAIT programs that will empower youth and meet community needs.
During a PAY program event, Aboriginal youth participate in activities, campus tours, and information sessions where they learn about career and post-secondary opportunities in a comfortable setting.
Guest speakers, including NAIT’s Aboriginal Student Ambassadors, share their personal success stories with participants and provide first-hand perspectives on NAIT’s full-time academic, apprenticeship and trades programs.
To learn more about the PAY program or book an event, contact Michelle Di Curzio, Aboriginal Liaison Specialist.
When booking an event, please note of the following:
- Events take place at NAIT’s Main Campus and/or satellite campuses in Edmonton, Alberta
- Half-day or full-day sessions are available
- Groups are limited to a maximum 20 people
- Booking must be confirmed a minimum 4 weeks in advance
“The PAY program provides amazing opportunities for First Nations, Métis and Inuit students to experience post-secondary life and learn about the various programs NAIT has to offer. The PAY program also introduces participants to NAIT students from its Aboriginal Ambassador Program who share their stories about their educational journeys. The program is a great way for participants to begin to see themselves in their post-secondary futures.”
–Jeremy Albert, First Nations, Métis and Inuit Consultant for Edmonton Public Schools
