Scholarship recipients receive paid tuition at a helicopter maintenance course available by the helicopter airframe and engine manufacturers or by Southern Illinois University; assistance for travel and lodging will be provided. Scholarship recipients must have completed their aviation maintenance training and passed all written and practical FAA exams prior to attendance at the course (not necessarily prior to applying for the scholarship). International students should have completed their respective country's FAA equivalent test. An instructor recommendation must accompany the application.

She must possess the minimum of a valid private pilot license at the time this application is made;
