All applicants must have completed the following prerequisites or equivalent courses:
Applicants presenting other math courses—for example, the previous Alberta Learning designations of Math 30 and Math 33—will be considered on an individual basis by the registrar. Math upgrading may be required. An interest in and an aptitude for physics is a definite asset.

Student selection is competitive and based on criteria that may include academic achievement beyond the stated minimum prerequisites. Contact the registrar for current information about selection criteria for this program.
A Career Investigation report is not required for the Avionics Engineering Technology program, at this time.
Applicants who have successfully completed equivalent post-secondary courses may be eligible for advance credit in selected courses. Applicants who wish to receive advance credit must request a course assessment by a student advisor. To complete the assessment, the student advisor will require a:
For a course to qualify for advance credit, its length (in hours) and content must be equivalent to or more extensive than the course the applicant is seeking exemption for.
Note: Applicants granted advance credit in a course may jeopardize their opportunities for scholarships or an honours diploma. Some scholarships require 100% loading for eligibility.
