A denturist provides primary care to patients missing some or all of their natural teeth. They are responsible for assessing a patient's needs and designing and manufacturing the appliance necessary for the patient's condition. They insert the appliance and are responsible for the patient's follow-up care.
A dental technician manufactures dental devices required by a dentist or denturist. A dental technician has limited patient contact.
Yes. The Denturist Technology program at NAIT has received national accreditation from the Denturist Association of Canada. As long as you meet the internship qualifications of each province, you are eligible to take provincial registration exams.

Do I need the prerequisites to be accepted into the program?
Applicant still needs to have the prerequisites, have their credentials evaluated and complete the program application form.
Do I have to take the full program?
Advanced credit cannot be determined until education has been assessed and you are accepted into the program. See Advanced Credit Requirements.
All applicants must have the prerequisite subjects or equivalent in order to be accepted into the program.
The Practicum must be complete in Canada.

The Denturist Technology program is not offered through distance delivery. Courses that are listed on NAIT's web site are post graduate courses for individuals who are licensed Denturists.
