In addition to the more traditional lecture and laboratory settings, students also gain clinical experience in a variety of locations both on and off campus.
Average Number of Hours in Classroom:
Students are expected to attend classes for an average of 32 hours per week over the course of the three-year program.
Average Number of Hours of Study Outside of Class:
Student should expect to spend at least 10-12 hours per week studying, completing assignments and doing research.
In the second and third years of the program, time required for patient management and scheduling will increase while time required for study will decrease.

Dates:
Students are required to successfully complete a practicum from August to December and January to April of Year 3.
Length:
Semester 5 - 20 weeks
Semester 6 - 17 weeks
Type of experience:
Students practice learned techniques under the supervision of a registered practitioner. Students are placed in a denturist practice and must complete specified procedures. The NAIT practicum liaison monitors student progress through consultation with the student and preceptor.
Salary:
Since this work is part of the educational experience, salaries are not paid to students.
Relocation:
Students are responsible for any housing, board and transportation costs they incur. Students may be required to travel outside the Edmonton region for their clinical placement.
