Business Administration - Accounting

Entrance Requirements

Basic Program Requirements
Entrance into Year 2 of the Business Administration - Accounting program requires completion of the Business Administration - Year 1 or equivalent. Students must complete a minimum of eight Year 1 courses in order to enter Year 2 of the program.  Those eight Year 1 courses must include:   

  • JRSB101 - Communication I
  • JRSB110 - Microeconomics
  • JRSB115 - Introductory Financial Accounting 
  • JRSB117 - Introductory Managerial Accounting 
  • JRSB125 - Introduction to Finance
  • JRSB150 - Introduction to IT

A high school diploma is not required but preferable.  However, applicants must have successfully completed:

  • English 30-1 or English 30-2 or equivalent 
  • Math 30 Applied or Math 30 Pure or equivalent 

Student selection is competitive and is based on criteria that may include academic achievement beyond the minimum stated prerequisites.

Competitive selection criteria is included on the application form.

Advanced / Transfer Credit

The Business Administration - Accounting program is recognized for credit by various Alberta universities and colleges, and are recognized by the Certified Management Accounting (CMA), Certified General Accounting (CGA) and the Chartered Accountant (CA) programs for possible exemptions.
