Entrance Requirements

Basic Program Requirements

Entrance into Year 2 of the Business Administration - Finance program requires completion of the Business Administration - Year 1 or equivalent. Students must complete a minimum of eight Year 1 courses in order to enter Year 2 of the program.  Those eight Year 1 courses must include the following in order to enter Year 2 of the program:

  • JRSB101 - Communications I  
  • JRSB110 - Microeconomics
  • JRSB112 - Macroeconomics
  • JRSB115 - Introductory Financial Accounting
  • JRSB117 - Introductory Managerial Accounting
  • JRSB125 - Introduction to Finance

For entrance requirements for Business Administration Year 1, a high school diploma is not required, however, applicants should have successfully completed the following courses:

  • English 30-1 or English 30-2
  • Math 30 Applied or Math 30 Pure

Selection Criteria

Student selection is competitive and is based on criteria that may include academic achievement beyond the minimum stated prerequisites.

Advanced / Transfer Credit

The Business Administration - Finance program is recognized for credit by various Alberta universities and colleges.
