Plastics Technology

The NAIT Shell Manufacturing Centre has the following equipment related to plastics processing:

  • Two injection molding machines (12 ton and 100 ton presses)
  • Extrusion machine
  • Blow-molding machine

We have various molds and dies to accomplish the following:

  • Extrusion die to make plastic tubing
  • Extrusion equipment to make plastic sheet rolls
  • Injection molds for making test coupons to measure tensile (ASTM D638), compressive, flexural, and shrinkage properties
