About RFID at NAIT

NAIT's Shell Manufacturing Centre has over $360,000 invested in people and assets related to RFID technology. This includes:

Active Real-Time Location System (RTLS) that covers the entire building.
Passive UHF systems
Additional handheld scanners, printers, readers, and antennas
Related middleware and ERP software such as Biz Talk Server, BEA Systems software, RTLS software, and Microsoft Dynamics suite
Industry standard CompTIA RFID+ certified staff

The RTLS at NAIT is an Wi-Fi compatible active RFID network. This system allows us to locate our assets in real-time from any computer on the NAIT network to an accuracy of +/- 5 meters.
