If you are eligible for an Alberta Student Loan, you will receive:
Important: NAIT may have an EDULINX representative on campus to process your loan documents in Fall 2011. Check back for updates.
(This process DOES NOT apply to your Canada Student Loan Certificate).
If you cashed an Alberta Student Loan Agreement since August 1, 2006, you may be eligible to have your future Alberta Student Loan funding automatically paid without receiving or signing another Agreement.
If you are eligible for this process, EDULINX will automatically deposit funds directly into your bank account, or send you a cheque if your banking information is not provided.
Important: NAIT may request your tuition fees be paid directly to them from your loan. This amount will be indicated on the loan certificate(s). You can also find out the amount that has been paid to the school at EDULINX. If you disagree with the tuition amount paid to your school, contact the NAIT Financial Aid Office to negotiate directly. Otherwise you could end up paying your tuition twice.
If you are eligible for a Canada Student Loan, you will receive:
When should I cash my loan documents?
Your Alberta Student Loan Agreement and/or Canada Student Loan Certificate must be cashed before your academic year end date. You must also cash your loans within 30 days of them being signed. If 30 days has passed since your loans have been signed, you will need to have them resigned by the NAIT Financial Aid Office.
What if I don't use the loan documents?
If you don't use the Agreement and/or Certificate (e.g. you may decide not to attend school or you no longer need a loan), you must return the documents for cancellation along with a detailed explanation as to why you no longer need the loan, to:
