Applicants who intend to apply for CGSB NDT certification are responsible for verifying their own eligibility with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). NRCan manages Canada's nation-wide program for the certification of individuals performing non-destructive testing (NDT). The NDT Certifying Agency of NRCan is an independent body that certifies individuals according to the National Standard of Canada, CAN/CGSB-48.9712-2006 "Qualification and Certification of Non-Destructive Testing Personnel."

NAIT provides training only towards the educational requirements of certification.

Materials and Processes Pre-requisite for training only.
Prior to taking any NDT training courses all students must complete the 40 hour MATE 650 course or provide evidence acceptable to NAIT that he/she has successfully passed an M & P examination administered by an NDT Accepted Training Organization (NATO).
Math Pre-requisite for training only.
Anyone taking a CEDO, Ultrasonics, or Radiography course will be required to pass the NAIT math skills test or provide evidence acceptable to NAIT that he/she has successfully passed a math examination administered by an NDT Accepted Training Organization (NATO).
MATE 555 is a one day math refresher with the examination at the end of the day.
Students can challenge the NAIT math test by calling the NDT test center to book a time to write (780-471-7638).
