FAQs

How do I know if I should come for counselling?

Student Counselling is here to help you with all personal concerns. If the concern is important to you it is worth discussing with a counsellor. If your concerns include:

  • concerns about your marks
  • poor study skills
  • difficulties concentrating
  • career indecision
  • personal concerns that are affecting your academic performance
  • difficulties making decisions
  • feelings of helplessness or hopelessness
  • thoughts of suicide or wanting to harm yourself

It may be useful to book an appointment with a Counsellor. However, if your concerns are regarding program scheduling or timetabling issues you should speak with the appropriate program contact. Difficulties with course material should be initially reviewed with the appropriate instructor. Financial concerns can be addressed in Room 0111.
If counsellors at Student Counselling are not able to help you, they will refer you to an appropriate agency or professional.
