BMI Level 2

Detailed Module Description

Level 2 is mandatory for all full-time NAIT faculty and must be completed within one calendar year from the completion of BMI Level 1. Instructors from industry, other education institutions, government and the public are invited to participate in BMI Level 2.

Outcome 2.1

You will be able to fost a dynamic and inclusive learning environment

You should be able to explain how leadership style impacts the learning community.        

Objective 2.1.3 - Creating an Inclusive Learning Community
You should be able to describe practices that create inclusive learning environments.

Objective 2.1.4 - Teaching with Technology
You should be able to embed technology in your teaching practice to enhance learning.

Objective 2.1.5 - Attending to Literacy and Numeracy Challenges
You should be able to apply principles of universal design to address literacy and numeracy challenges in the learning environment.

Outcome 2.2

You will be able to evaluate a course to ensure evidence-based practices in curriculum develop.

Objective 2.2.6 - Becoming a Scholarly Teacher
You should be able to discuss the relevance of embedding scholarly teaching in your teaching practice.  

Objective 2.2.7 - Designing Assessment Instruments
You should be able to design a repertoire of assessment instruments for a given outcome or objective.    
 
Objective 2.2.8 - Embedding Information Literacy in Course Design
You should be able to incorporate information literacy in your course design and delivery.  

Objective 2.2.9 - Introduction to Curriculum Development and Renewal Process
You should be able to explain curriculum development/renewal processes that are consistent with outcome-based education.
