NAIT Alumni

Mentoring

NAIT’s Mentor Program lets you share your experience and encourage students who are preparing to start their careers.

There are two types of mentoring opportunities available through the Alumni Office.

Career investigations

Alumni volunteers are matched with interested students or prospective students. Mentors answer questions about their NAIT experience and talk about what it’s really like working in a particular field.

Mentoring can be provided in a number of ways:

  • phone conversations
  • face-to-face meetings
  • job shadowing

After the initial contact, it’s up to the student and mentor how much, if any, contact they want to have in the future.

Alumni speaking opportunities

The Mentor Program coordinates speakers at various events on- and off-campus. Alumni speakers share their career and educational experiences with a group of current or prospective NAIT students.

Current students are given practical information on career opportunities and the realities of a particular field of employment. Prospective students can gather information to make informed decisions about their specific program choices.
