Federal Government Announces New CIDA Funding at NAIT

Bev Oda, Minister of International Cooperation, visited NAIT today to announce new regional project investments in the Andean countries of Peru, Bolivia and Columbia as part of the Skills for Employment Initiative. The $20 million investment will provide Canadian expertise in technical vocational education and training to colleges in these developing countries.  The Association of Canadian Community Colleges, ACCC, will be conducting an educational needs assessment in the Andean countries and provide CIDA with recommendations on how to best meet the training needs of each region. NAIT has a long partnership with CIDA and the ACCC and shares their interest in developing the workforces and economies of countries around the world.
