NAIT has been a self-governing institution since the Government of Alberta transferred governance of the Institute to the NAIT Board of Governors in 1982.
Governance structure
The Board of Governors has representation from NAIT staff, students and members of the community. The Board manages and operates NAIT within its mandate.
The Executive Comittee acts at the direction given by the Board of Governors. Executive Committee is made up of NAIT's:
- President and CEO
- Vice President Administration and Chief Financial Officer
- Vice President External Relations and Chief Development Officer
- Chief Strategy Officer
President's Council advises the President on those matters of strategic significance to the operation, resources or affairs of NAIT.
