Users of table-reservation service voted NAIT restaurant among the best in the country

Ernest’s at NAIT has been named one of the 100 Best Restaurants For Foodies in Canada for 2016 by OpenTable diners. OpenTable is a online reservation tool that helps its users find tables at a nearby restaurant. The service finds restaurants for more than 19 million diners worldwide each month.

The list of winners is based on reviews from OpenTable diners across the country between Aug. 1, 2015 and July 31, 2016. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration.

NAIT’s dining room has been an essential part of the Culinary Arts program since 1963, providing culinary arts students with critical real-world skills while offering Edmontonians a first-rate dining experience. All elegantly-crafted meals at Ernest’s are prepared by second-year Culinary Arts students under the watch of the polytechnic’s seasoned chef instructors.

The dining room was named Ernest’s in 2005 after Ernest Hokanson – an Edmonton-born entrepreneur who owned a successful oilfield catering company.
