Six NAIT students get ready to graduate during back-to-school week
While thousands of NAIT students headed back to class this week, six NAIT students are getting ready for their graduation ceremony this Thursday. On Thursday, Aug. 30, graduates from the first Rig Technician Journeyperson program will receive their certificates at 1 p.m. in the Governor’s Boardroom on NAIT main campus. They are the first graduating class for the Rig Technician program, which is the newest apprenticeship trade in Alberta. NAIT’s Rig Technician apprenticeship program was launched in 2006, addressing the need for standardized levels of professional skills on drilling rigs. There are three levels of training for this program and this is the first set of students to complete all three levels and graduate.
