Baking Team Canada practices at NAIT

WHAT: The newly assembled Baking Team Canada will be practicing at NAIT Saturday, June 12, 2010. The team has its sights set on the World Cup in Paris, but first has to qualify this fall in Las Vegas, something a Canadian team has never done. A Canadian team has also never before taken such a strategic approach to winning. They have organized earlier, are working together more and are putting in more hours of training.

WHERE:  NAIT
11762 –106 Street NW
O009 Bakery – (basement next to Common Market)
Edmonton, Alberta

WHEN: Saturday, June 12, 2010
10 am to 2 pm

WHY: See Canada’s representatives in action. The caliber and expertise of  bakers assembled will be impressive. The team will be running through an actual competition scenario this weekend. Baking Team Canada coach Clayton Folkers has had tremendous success with Culinary Team Canada as a competitor and also as a coach. He can offer perspective on why Canadian bakers haven’t fared as well on the world stage as our Canadian culinary teams and why it might be different this time around.
