Corus Entertainment donates $75,000 to Radio and Television programs
Thanks to a $75,000 donation from Corus Entertainment Inc., students in NAIT’s Radio and Television programs can now learn in upgraded facilities, using leading-edge equipment.
“NAIT’s Radio and Television programs offer students a hands-on approach to learning,” says Patrick Galenza, chair of Radio and Television. “Electronic media are continually changing, and, in order to prepare our students to successfully enter the job market, we must train them on the latest technology. With the support of partners like Corus Entertainment, we can train our students on industry-standard equipment, in fully equipped broadcast facilities.”
The Radio and Television programs provide students with optimum learning experiences through intensive training and practical skill development, ensuring competence in all operational aspects of electronic media. Through this unique learning environment, students have the opportunity to learn the job functions normally found in radio and television stations and achieve a professional standard of training in both performance and content.
NAIT is one of Canada’s leading polytechnics, with almost 80,000 registrations worldwide in key areas including science, technology and the environment, business, health care and trades. Known for real-world education and student success, NAIT also engages with business and industry in applied research and innovation and provides corporate training around the world. NAIT enrolled its first students - 29 communication electrician apprentices - in 1962 and this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
