NAIT welcomes new chair and members to Board of Governors
Brent Hesje has been appointed the new chair of the NAIT Board of Governors by Alberta’s minister of enterprise and advanced education. Hesje, who has served on the NAIT board since 2008, is the CEO of Fountain Tire Ltd., which has been recognized since 1994 as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
Hesje received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985. Prior to joining Fountain Tire he spent seven years in sales and marketing positions throughout Canada with Procter & Gamble. He also sits on the board of the Automotive Industry Association of Canada.
“I am honoured to be appointed board chair,” said Hesje. “I look forward to working with the outstanding leadership both on the board and within NAIT in my new role. This institute is essential to Alberta’s continued growth and success.”
Hesje replaces James Cumming, whose three-year term as chair recently ended.
“NAIT has a history of having an exceptional board comprised of industry, staff, and students - one that works closely with our leaders in setting the broad direction for the institution,” said Dr. Glenn Feltham, NAIT president and CEO. “The new additions to the board ensure this will continue into the future.”
In addition to Hesje’s appointment, NAIT is pleased to welcome three new members to the Board of Governors:
Clark, executive chairman of Clark Builders, founded the company in 1974 and served as CEO until 2011. He received an Honorary Bachelor of Business Administration degree from NAIT in 2012. Clark has led Clark Builders to be recognized as both one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies and one of Canada’s Best Employers.
Kruper is the CEO of the Simmax Group of Companies. No stranger to NAIT, he received his Electrician Certification from the institute in 1981, his Master Electrician Certificate from NAIT in 1984 and his Management Development Certificate from the University of Alberta in 1995.
Pisani is the president and CEO of Alberta Blue Cross, and has 29 years of progressively senior experience in the organization. He is a graduate of NAIT’s Administrative Management Program, in addition to holding multiple health and life insurance industry certifications. In 2013, he received an Honorary Bachelor of Business Administration degree from NAIT.
NAIT would also like to welcome new student members, Jonathan Bilodeau (president of NAITSA) and Justin Nand.
