Roommate-matching concept wins $20,000 business plan competition
NAIT student Kathleen Versteegt (@GuitarKat) may have figured out a surefire way to avoid getting stuck with a crummy roommate.
Versteegt, along with teammates Bernice Auma and Nigel Logan, has developed an innovative business concept called TypeRoom, a personality-matching website for those looking for a roommate. The concept would have users complete personality assessments to determine potential matches.
Versteegt – a three-time NAIT alumna now enrolled in the Bachelor of Technology in Technology Management program – and her teammates are the winners of NAIT’s fifth annual Hatch Business Plan Competition. They will receive $20,000 in seed funding and are also eligible for one year of business incubation space with novaNAIT – NAIT’s home of applied research and enterprise development.
Hatch is a NAIT business plan competition for budding entrepreneurs to “hatch” their idea into a viable business.
Media are invited to learn more about Versteegt’s concept and NAIT’s Hatch Business Plan Competition.
