Newest staff member in NAIT’s Health Services office is working like a dog
Every dog has his day. For NAIT’s newly certified assisted therapy dog Flynn, it’s this Thursday.
Flynn, an adorable Australian Labradoodle, has just passed his obedience and temperament testing through Chimo Animal-Assisted Therapy, becoming NAIT’s first certified assisted therapy dog. It’s a ‘ruff’ job, but Flynn’s happy to do it. To celebrate, NAIT is throwing Flynn a graduation party.
Media are invited to meet Flynn and his owner, Linda Shaw, a registered nurse, who can explain how the one-year-old pooch helps students and staff cope with stress. Working out of the Health Services office, Flynn’s services are particularly important at this time of year – as students prepare to write final exams. Flynn is quickly becoming NAIT’s ambassador of paws-itivity.
