Transmedia conference to kick off with PitchQuest
Four student and five professional teams will compete for $10,000 in prize money at PitchQuest, an inaugural event being held in conjunction with StoryWorld Quest – Alberta’s largest transmedia and entertainment industry conference.
Participants have been challenged to conceive, design and build a digital transmedia project, which involves telling stories and developing characters across multiple platforms. This can include apps, websites, games, virtual reality and more. The concepts will be pitched Dragon’s Den style to a panel of experts. Teams will be judged on the quality of the experience they design, the sophistication of the prototype they present, their capacity to deliver a convincing and professional business case, and more.
Nearly 40 new media and entertainment industry leaders will speak at StoryWorld Quest, including Sean Stewart, creative director for Xbox Entertainment Studios, Aaryn Flynn, GM for BioWare’s Edmonton and Montreal studios and Jeff Gomez, CEO of Starlight Runner Entertainment.
