Hands-on learning for Grade 4 students in Machinist lab
Approximately 30 students will spend the day at the polytechnic with instructors in the Machinist program, including both classroom and lab time. Using the latest in industry-standard equipment, the students will each build a simple pulley and gear system. This will be an opportunity for the students to apply their math, science, language arts and art skills to a real-world situation.
There will be photo ops of the students learning how to operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment. The students, their teacher and NAIT staff will be available for media interviews.
This will be the third class from the school to attend the day-long sessions at NAIT.
