ATB Financial commits $204,000 to NAIT
Campus Life and New Venture will receive support
Student-focused programming at NAIT will receive a $204,000 boost over the next three years from ATB Financial. The donation will help enhance programs to engage prospective and current students on campus.
“We understand today’s students are the future of Alberta,” says Karen Lynch, external relations for post-secondary at ATB Financial. “We also understand the importance of supporting great Alberta institutions like NAIT. Together we can help students reach the career and lifestyle of their dreams.”
The donation includes $145,500 toward projects led by NAIT’s Department of Campus Life, including Welcome Week, Open House and the International Student Centre Thanksgiving Celebration.
“The support of ATB helps students engage with NAIT in many ways,” says Karen Bennett, NAIT’s associate vice president of campus life. “Without this support, we would not be able to provide the same number of high quality student interactions.”
A further $58,500 will be allocated toward New Venture at NAIT outreach initiatives, such as events and workshops for students, alumni and local entrepreneurs.
“The support and expertise of organizations like ATB help us engage with entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial community,” says Sandra Spencer, NAIT manager of entrepreneurial partnering. “It’s also an opportunity for us to build stronger relationships with the people of ATB and connect these resources and programming to our students and alumni.”
