Rick Trimp named dean of NAIT’s School of Health Sciences
Former interim CEO of Alberta Health Services looks to build on program’s strengths
Rick Trimp, former interim president and CEO of Alberta Health Services, has been named dean of NAIT’s School of Health Sciences.
Trimp, who has 30 years of executive health administration leadership experience, started his career as a physical therapy technician with the U.S. Navy. He rose through the ranks to manage a range of health care operations in the U.S., the Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Trimp’s experience includes being part of the group that helped shape the new territory of Nunavut in the 1990s while working for the Northwest Territories Department of Health and Social Services. As an executive director with Saskatchewan Health, he led that province’s H1N1 pandemic planning and response. Most recently, Trimp was the interim president and CEO of Alberta Health Services and vice president of province-wide clinical supports programs and services. He begins his new job today.
