Study Permit

Most international students will need a study permit if they plan to study in Canada for more than 6 months.

Getting a study permit

  1. Apply for a full-time day program, or contact NAIT to register for a full-time Continuing Education or English as an Additional Language program.
  2. Once you have been accepted, NAIT will send you an official Letter of Acceptance (LOA).
  3. Take the LOA and your completed study permit application package to the closest Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Visa Office to begin the study permit process. Allow a minimum of 3 to 4 months for processing.
  4. Contact NAIT International Education to keep us updated on the status of your study permit application.
  5. Contact NAIT International Education to confirm your attendance once you have your study permit.
