A NAIT’s alumnus recently alerted the Student Success Contact Centre to the fact he had received an email saying that the NAIT student alumni association had randomly chosen him to receive a cash award. He was to receive this award at a reunion gathering at NAIT. The email was apparently sent by a staff member in Corporate Communications. When he responded to the email, he was asked to provide personal banking information.
NAIT’s Department of Information Services (ISD), Department of Advancement, Campus Security Services, and Corporate Communications are aware of this suspected email scam. We are taking this matter very seriously and are consulting the RCMP Economic Crime unit.
