Information on Disabilities

There are many types of disabilities that people may have that will affect their ability to access post-secondary education. Some of these disabilities are physical, which may result in difficulty with mobility or in long-term health problems. Other disabilities are not visibly apparent, although a large percentage of the population is affected by them. These "invisible" disabilities may include learning disabilities, ADHD, or mental health disabilities. At NAIT, one of our goals is to provide accessibility to all students with disabilities.

In this section, you will find information on campus accessibility and how to get around the campus. A section on Universal Design gives some information about this new paradigm of instruction, a method of teaching which allows for greater accessibility to all students, no matter their disabilities. Information is also provided about some of the disabilities we help to accommodate.
