How to Enroll in a Class Using Self-Service On MyNAIT Portal

Note: You must be accepted in either the Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program in order to use this process.

It is the student's responsibility to read the Fee Information (106K pdf) related to the Degree Programs.

The enrollment process is fully online under Self-Service in the MyNAIT Student Portal.

Setting Up Your MyNAIT Portal Account

If you have not already setup a user name and password:

Logging into MyNAIT Portal if your account is already set up

  1. Using Internet Explorer or Firefox, go to http://www.nait.ca
  2. Click Current Students to access MyNAIT Portal, OR
    using the Quick Links menu, choose MyNAIT portal under Student Resources, OR
    type in http://www.nait.ca/MyNAIT to your browser address bar.
  3. Login with your MyNAIT username and password.

Your eLetters appear in your My eLetters mailbox and provide important information and links related to program acceptance, course requirements, current offerings, fees and expenses, refund policies, MyNAIT portal, online courses, booklists, Academic Regulations and more.

Enrollment Appointment

On the Self-Service page, you will be notified about enrollment timelines (see menu item in right margin) – click on details button.

Enrollment Dates

To view appointments and enrollment dates for another term, select the term and click Change.

Enrolling in Your Classes

  1. Click on self-service button
  2. Click on my class schedule under academics
  3. Click on the Add tab tab. IMPORTANT: If you search for classes from the 'class search' tab rather than the 'add' tab, the 'select class' button will not appear. 
  4. Under Add Classes,
    1. If the appropriate term does not appear, , click on Change
    2. Search for Classes drop-down menu click on Search
  5. Enter Course Subject and Number:

    WARNING: Self-service must only be used to enroll in class sections that appear in your 'Search for Classes' results. DO NOT enter a Class number for a CED class. If you must enroll in a CED class, use the Programs and Courses link on the NAIT website. CED classes are not included in your degree tuition so additional course fees will be charged
  6. Click on Search
  7. Class options will display:

    • NOTE: Online classes are indicated under LOCATION.


  8. Click on Select class to review class details which includes units(i.e. hours) and enrollment information:


  9. Click on Next to view this message:

  10. If you wish to Delete a class from your enrollment shopping cart, click on the Trash icon

  11. Add more classes or click on Proceed to Step 2 of 3
  12. Confirm classes listed, then click on Finish Enrolling
  13. Status for each class should indicate Checkmarkwhich means your enrollment was successful.
     
    (Read the Fee Information (106K pdf) before making a payment).

Errors

  1. If the status for any of your attempted enrollments indicates an error:Error, click on Fix errors

  2. Then, click on the link class link example under class, and review the Enrollment information buttonto determine why you are not allowed to enroll:

Related Class Section

  1. If applicable, you will be instructed to select a related (eg. Laboratory) section. Select your required Laboratory section
    Click on the radio button, then click on next button and finish enrolling:

Class Schedule

  1. Review my class schedule. Choose list viewor weekly calendar view(select appropriate week).
    To change the view, choose a display option and click on change:

Drop a Class

Students are encouraged to discuss class withdrawal with the Program Chair; however, you may use Self-Service to drop a class up to 14 calendar days after the session start date. After this date, discuss your wishes with your Program Chair.

  1. To drop a class, click on the Drop tab tab and Select Check boxthe class(es) you wish to drop - telated classes will also be dropped:

  2. Click on Drop selected classes button, then click on Finish dropping button.
