Business Incubation

novaNAIT's business incubators are designed to help entrepreneurial start-ups become sustainable high-growth companies. These centres provide the support start-ups need to turn innovative ideas into the products and services that the market demands.

The Duncan McNeill Centre for Innovation (DMCI) is located on NAIT's main campus. A second incubator is located in St. Albert. These facilities include:

Incubator clients are offered:

  • flexible leasing terms
  • business guidance
  • access to NAIT's expertise, facilities and common areas

Clients also benefit from novaNAIT's partnerships with the Edmonton Research Park, the National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT), TEC Edmonton and the Northern Alberta Business Incubator (NABI), which provide additional services and business support, including access to:

  • shared expertise
  • business coaching
  • a larger network base

In addition, the National Research Council (NRC) – Industrial Research Assistance Program has an Industrial Technology Advisor in the DMCI to help small- and medium-sized enterprises develop their technologies.
