Practical education, small classes and a welcoming environment make the JR Shaw School of Business (JRSSB) the ideal place to start or continue your business education.

Practical learning

At JRSSB, real-life assignments make classes relevant and interesting. Students continually hone their skills through exercises that focus on teamwork and meeting client needs. For instance, in our Marketing program, student teams work with real clients to create promotional campaigns that are judged by a panel of experts, including members of the Advertising Club of Edmonton. Winning teams are honoured at an awards banquet.

A number of classes also use online business simulations, which let students use their classroom knowledge to make decisions and analyze the results in a safe environment.

And our small class sizes mean instructors can really get to know our students and help them to succeed.

Beyond the classroom

From the first year to the last, we want you get the most out of your educational experience. A welcome barbecue lets first-year students start to get to know our faculty and staff. As the school year begins, a first-year orientation session prepares students for the year ahead. At this session, students:

• get their class schedules
• learn about NAIT services
• meet the JRSSB staff member who will be their main contact for program questions

For those students who are nearing graduation, NAIT's Career Fair can help open doors in the working world.
