Giving back to the community has always been important to Carmelo Rago, owner of Sorrentino's Restaurant Group. So when he found out in 2004 that NAIT was raising funds to create a world-class centre for the culinary arts, he wanted to pitch in.
"For over 30 years, our restaurants have hired and continue to hire many NAIT graduates. They have truly been an integral part of our success," Carmelo says of why he decided to contribute to the Hokanson Centre campaign. "Our donation is truly a gift from the heart."
Sorrentino's generous donation resulted in the creation of the Sorrentino's Chef's Table in Ernest's Restaurant.
