Welcome to the School of Health and Life Sciences!
Our vision is to be the best in health science polytechnic training and be recognized as the centre of excellence in applied research.
We achieve this by focusing on
- Quality curriculum and instruction by our industry experienced instructors
- Hands-on experiential learning activities, including simulations
- Applied research activities
- Strong partnerships/relationships with industry stakeholders (ie. Alberta Health Services, Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA))
Our school offers health career education leading to diplomas or certificates in 22 different programs. Our programs are accredited. In addition to the quality education provided at NAIT, our students also participate in hands-on clinical or practicum experiences with our industry partners. Our graduates are very successful on the national/provincial certification examinations. As well, our diploma program graduates can also transition into further learning at NAIT (via the Bachelor of Technology program) or other educational institutes/degree programs.
This past year, the School of Health and Life Sciences opened a state-of-the-art Health and Life Sciences Simulation Centre. The Simulation Centre will be utilized by our programs (and external stakeholders) to enhance simulated learning activities.
