The Pre-employment Automotive Service Technician program is designed for people with little or no automotive background experience. This program may be a step to securing an apprenticeship contract, if that is the goal of the student, or as basic automotive information. After successful completion of the program, graduates will have the opportunity to write the first period automotive service technician apprenticeship exam. This program has both fall and winter intakes.

NAIT's School of Skilled Trades offers training in over 40 program areas leading to journeyperson certification, and certificate and diploma credentials.
