The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist certificate program provides the skills and knowledge needed to excel in machining and manufacturing. This one-year program trains you in conventional machining operations, including the use of drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and grinding equipment.
In addition to machining fundamentals, you will also gain hands-on experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation, ensuring you are prepared for modern machining environments. You will receive introductory training in CAD/CAM software, as well as inspection and quality control techniques to ensure precision and accuracy in manufacturing processes.
Graduates of this program are prepared for expanding CNC machinist career opportunities in various shops or supply companies. After graduation, you may be eligible to challenge the first-year apprenticeship exam for the Machinist program.
