In 1962 we built our first two buildings and admitted our first students. Over the last 50 years, we have developed into one of Canada's leading polytechnics and one of Alberta's primary economic drivers.
NAIT has always existed to meet Alberta's current and emerging needs for technical education. In 1962 that meant skilled trades. Fifty years and 172,000 graduates later, our relevant, hands-on approach to education has expanded to include key fields in business, health care, science and technology.
All of this was built on the vision and foresight of those who came before us, the dedication of our staff, and the success of thousands of alumni. There's a lot to celebrate!
