Applying for Apprenticeship Programs
Apprenticeship training is delivered at NAIT Main Campus, Patricia, and Souch Campus, as well as additional satellite campuses. Eligibility for apprenticeship training is determined by Apprenticeship and Industry Training, Department of Advanced Education and Technology of the Government of Alberta.
To apply for Apprenticeship programs please visit Apprenticeship and Industry Training. Once you are an indentured apprentice, you can automatically see your eligible classes at training providers across the province.
Important Information for Apprenticeship Class Registration for 2016/17
Apprenticeship registration for the 2016/17 academic year will open in May. Please view the schedule to find the registration date for each apprenticeship trade. Your available training dates will be available through your MyTradesecrets account. We will begin accepting registration requests at 8:00 a.m. each business day.
In person: Room O115, 11762 106 Street, Edmonton T5G 2R1.
Bring your completed Apprenticeship Enrolment form. On the day your trade registration opens, line up begins at 5:30 a.m. at the west doors of the South Lobby on the NAIT Main Campus (11762 - 106 Street).
No one will be allowed to line up prior to this and overnight line-ups are not permitted. Anyone found on the property between 4:30 p.m to 5:30 a.m. will be directed to leave and return the following day.
By phone: 780.471.6248 or (outside of Edmonton) at 1.877.333.6248. You will be asked to provide your AIT identifier and will need to pay by credit card at the time of enrolment. Visa & Mastercard debit cards are not accepted.
By fax: Fax your completed Apprenticeship Enrolment form to 780.471.8490 between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Your form must include
- a credit card number, purchase order or letter of authorization
- name of the student
- preferred training date
- total fee amount
All faxes received before 8:00 a.m. the day registration for the requested trade opens will not be processed.
PLEASE NOTE: Apprenticeship enrolments will NOT be accepted through the online chat function or through email. Please come in person, fax or call the Student Success Contact Centre to register.
Once enrolment is confirmed you must create a myNAIT Student Portal account
Use your NAIT student ID and/or personal account information to create your portal login. The student portal is used to access class schedules, books and supplies, parking, receipts and information related to Student Services.
