Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a deadline to enrol in my courses?
Yes. If you are a new student, the deadline varies depending on when you paid your tuition deposit. If you are a continuing student, your enrolment deadline is the tuition payment deadline.
What happens if I don’t enrol by the deadline?
Your admission will be cancelled. If you are a new student, you will need to reapply to your program through APAS and pay the application fee. If you are a continuing student you will be withdrawn from your program, you will need to complete a Request for Readmission in order to continue your studies. Please note that readmission is not guaranteed.
Which courses should I enrol in and how many?
In most programs, students may enrol in as few or as many courses as they wish. Each course is assigned a credit value and each program has a credit limit. Learn more about planning your schedule on MyNAIT Student Portal.
How do I create my schedule?
Visit NAIT’s Schedule Planner
Please note: NAIT’s Scheduler Planner does not enroll you in courses. After designing your schedule you will close the Schedule Planner tool and be returned to your MyNAIT Student Portal. There you must complete the enrollment process.
Can I change my classes after the enrolment deadline?
The swap function is the best way to drop one class in order to add another one. Using swap (instead of the drop and add functions) will drop a course only if the enrollment in the new course is successful. Learn how to swap a course on your MyNAIT Student Portal.
To ensure you get the class schedule you want, select and enrol in your classes as soon as possible since many courses will fill up quickly.
The course I want or need to take is full. What should I do?
Some courses allow you to add your name to a waitlist if the section you want to enrol in is full. Students can place themselves on a waitlist for a class by selecting the “wait list” check-box after clicking “select class.” Not all classes will have waitlists.
