About the Program
Student learning in the Business Administration – Year 1 with English language pathway combines first year Business courses and English as a Second Language courses to help students develop the knowledge and skill they will need to be successful in the Business Diploma.
Students receive extensive English language training in the first 2 weeks of the Business Administration Year 1 with English Language Training bridging program . Students are immersed in English courses from Monday to Friday: 9:15 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. in their first 2 weeks of studies. Then students take an additional 90 hours of English training in the first and second term, followed by an additional 60 hours of English training in the third term.
Terms 1 to 3, each consist of 3 to 4 Business Administration Year 1 courses. Courses in the fall , winter, spring and summer terms are offered Monday to Thursday in the afternoon and evening (times vary per course and per term) .
Note: In order to move into Level 2000 courses, you must successfully pass 8 credit courses, including COMM1101, along with all BUCP classes.

Academic Requirements55% in each of:
- Grade 12 English
- Pure Math 30 or Math 30-1 or 30-2 or Applied Math 30
Minimum English Language Requirements
- Successful completion of NAIT ESL Level 4 with a minimum 73% or equivalent or
- Minimum score of Level 5 on NAIT's English Placement Test
- TOEFL, IBT: 74 minimum or
- IELTS, Academic: 5.5 minimum with no specific skill below 5.5 or
- Pearson Test of Academic English: 50 minimum
This program is intended for applicants who do not meet the English Language Proficiency requirements for the Business Administration Year 1 program. Applicants that meet the English Language Proficiency Requirements for Business Administration Year 1 require program approval and are encouraged to contact the program before applying.
