Scholarships & Bursaries
Scholarships and Bursaries provide critical support to students in 3 distinct ways
- Recognize academic excellence
- Recognize volunteer or leadership
- Alleviate financial need
Moreover, a scholarship or bursary recognizes students' hard work, giving them the encouragement to continue their studies and succeed in meaningful ways.
After alumna Linda Haymour (Court Reporting ’76) retired, she sold her steno machine, the equipment which had been essential to a fulfilling, successful career. She knew exactly what she should do with the money.
Remembering how difficult a time it can be for students, she made a donation to create The Grace Emergency Bursary at NAIT.
“Grace can be a reprieve, a grace period,” she says, explaining the inspiration behind naming the bursary. "To me, grace encompasses integrity, gratitude, compassion, empathy and perseverance. Grace is something to strive for and then share."
Gifts to general scholarships or emergency bursaries can be made immediately online.
For any gifts made through an annual gift, pledge or endowment, consult the Scholarships and Bursaries office. Staff will advise you about the giving option that best works for you to establish a scholarship or bursary at NAIT.
