NAIT's Disability Awareness Event
Main Campus, CAT Crossing, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
On December 3 the United Nations recognizes International Day for Persons with Disabilities. Learning Services will be acknowledging this international day of disability awareness at NAIT on November 30. This year our awareness event will celebrate disability and the arts with a performance by CRIPSiE, a collective of performance artists who experience disability or other forms of oppression, along their artistic and political allies. Also on display will be an art exhibit by an Edmonton artist with work inspired by her mother’s experience with Multiple Sclerosis.
Learning Services is a work unit in the Learning and Teaching Commons, which works collaboratively with students and instructors to address barriers to learning. Students can access a variety of resources and services, such as learning strategy sessions, tutoring, supplemental learning or learning skills workshops. Additionally, we provide individualized accommodations for students with disabilities, including alternate format course materials, assistive and adaptive technology, exam accommodations, captioning and sign language interpretation.
