Chair, Culinary Arts
Hong Chew is a graduate of NAIT’s Commercial Cooking program. Hong spent his early culinary career working for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Delta Hotels and Resorts as well as the CHIP Hospitality Group of Hotels. He has held various positions over his career, ranging from executive chef to director of food and beverage.
In 2007, Hong joined the Culinary Arts program as an instructor. In October 2016, he was named Chair of the program. Hong is a Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) as well as a National Examiner with the Canadian Culinary Institute (CCI). Hong is very active with the Edmonton Chapter of the Canadian Culinary Federation of Chefs and Cooks (CCFCC), including being appointed as its first vice president.
