NAIT Ooks Athlete of the Week October 5 - October 11

Alex Mah, Women's Soccer
In NAIT's 2-0 victory over King's and in the Ooks 2-0 defeat versus MacEwan, Alex was the team's most effective player. Although her name did not appear on the score sheet, the third year Business student was brilliant on the field. "She is everything that a captain should be. She leads by example, takes charge when needed, provides us with confidence, and just generally makes us better", said NAIT Head Coach MP Duxbury.

Scott McLeod, Men's Soccer

Playing two critical games this past weekend, a healthy Scott McLeod would once again display his leadership and importance to the NAIT Ooks squad by putting on two dominating performances. Earning game MVP honors in NAIT's 3-0 win over MacEwan, Scott was a defensive force as he anchored a NAIT team that earned two successive shutouts with wins over Kings and MacEwan. Having finally recovered from a game one injury that saw him miss four matches, Scott has stepped right back into the squad and reaffirmed his status as one of the league's best center backs. "Scott is incredibly tough to beat 1 on 1, and wins almost everything in the air. More importantly to our team defense, there is not a player in the league that he can't catch which gives our team an ability to always look to attack with the knowledge that he is there to cover our mistakes." says coach Paulus.
