NAIT Athletics is pleased to announce John Bower as the new Athletics Director at NAIT.

John comes to NAIT with an extensive background in sport and athletics. He has 20 years of sports management and broadcasting experience. Most recently he was at Concordia University in Quebec where he was responsible for implementing a student-athlete support plan that saw academic progress and retention of Concordia University's five full-time sports programs improve significantly. As well, he was the Executive Director of the RSEQ university sport conference from 2010-12 in addition to having worked at the University of Ottawa and Windsor.

John completed his degree at the University of Windsor and in his free time enjoys hiking, cycling, reading, fishing, and broadcasting sports. Joining him on his move to Edmonton will be his wife and two step children.

Fun fact about John is that he is indeed related to a hockey legend as his grandfather is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and inspired John to pursue a career in the sports and athletics world.

John's first official day in the office will be Tuesday, August 1st.
