Our intercollegiate teams have established a rich tradition of student-athlete success that ranks NAIT as among the finest intercollegiate programs both in the Alberta Conference (ACAC) and in Canada (CCAA). Because of this, we are confident that NAIT student-athletes develop life skills of teamwork, commitment, discipline, and time management that are valued throughout their careers.
The NAIT Men’s Hockey team is in search of an equipment manager. The successful applicant must be a team-oriented individual who is organized and willing to work closely with the coaching staff and medical staff to serve the Student Athlete’s needs. Expected essential skills to this position are strong organizational skills, communication skills and the management of his/her time effectively.
NAIT plays in the eight team Alberta College Athletics Conference (ACAC). The schedule is 28 regular season games, as well as pre and mid-season exhibitions, and playoffs. The season runs from August through March with a Christmas break. Practices are Monday to Thursday in the late afternoon/evening, and games are typically Friday and Saturday evenings, with one being at home and one away each weekend. The equipment manager is expected to be at all games, practices and team functions.
Job Description Includes:
- All matters related to inventory of the team’s equipment & supplies within a budget.
- Management and repair of all players’ equipment.
- Skate sharpening for both Men’s & Women’s Varsity teams.
- Dressing room organization and management.
- Game day setup of dressing room and team equipment.
- Daily laundry scheduling & drop off at NAIT sports equipment center on NAIT campus.
Remuneration: Salary range is between $7,000.00 to $9,000.00 based on experience and is an 8-month contract starting August 1, 2017 and ending March 31, 2018.
