$300 million for status quo?
Welcome back! When we last left our hero, he was anxiously awaiting for the weekend to be here so he could indulge in some of his mom’s home cooking in the Okanagan!
Honestly, I ate _SO_ much on thanksgiving, I thought I was going to die. I was so full that even breathing was a chore. Thanks mom!
I hardly had to schmooze her at all to make me some pizza and cookies while I was there…methinks mamma is proud of her eldest! Today, I sent her a nice bouquet of flowers to thank her for taking such good care of me while I was down there. I also succeeded in completely spoiling my brother rotten while I was there, buying him the new lego Batman game for his PSP (WHERE’S MINE? I wanted that game!) AND the new Iron Man movie; my little brother is 11, and is the sweetest boy I know. I absolutely adore him, and since I have no kids of my own (that I know about! haha)…gotta spoil someone!
So to the subject of today’s blog…hopefully everyone made it out to vote! Sadly, all that money that we, the taxpayers shelled out for this election ended up giving us the same government we started out with. The only real positive that I see coming out of this is that Mr. Dion will most likely step down from his post as head of the Liberal party. Hopefully they select someone a little more charismatic, and try to block the Liberal leadership from suffering a trifecta of douchebags (I’m looking at you too, Mr. Martin).
So what about that thermodynamics exam I had today? Well, I’m pleased to say that I have a feeling I did well on it; usually my instincts aren’t far off the mark…an 80% or higher is my expectation. The rest of this week is going to be fairly calm…not so much as an assignment due before next Wednesday, which is always nice
What’s on the horizon for next week? Well, firstly, I am getting hammered with 3 midterms, all of which will require a substantial amount of studying…I need to get my buns down to the Shaw theatre on Wednesday, Schlumberger is having a recruitment presentation; this will be a good opportunity to touch base with my bosses from last summer’s internship. Sometime between now and Friday I have to get a new suit, as I am attending the NAIT Celebrates dinner at the Hotel MacDonald. I’m really looking forward to that, I hear the food is to die for. I have to look my best, as I will be rubbing elbows with some of Edmonton’s high society…guess I better put away the sweats, just this once.
